Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get an estimate?
Contact us by phone or through our website to schedule a free in-home estimate. Melissa will visit your property, discuss your project goals, and provide a detailed written estimate with transparent pricing — no surprises and no pressure.
How long has Melissa's Painting been in business?
Melissa started painting around 2000 in the mountain town of Rollinsville, Colorado, and has been honing her craft for over 25 years. She moved to Fort Collins in 2024 and now brings that mountain-town care and expertise to the Northern Front Range.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Melissa does the work herself. You won't have a revolving crew of strangers in your home. This is how we maintain consistent quality on every project.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Timnath, Wellington, Severance, Greeley, LaPorte, Berthoud, and Johnstown — essentially all of Northern Colorado.
What paint brands do you use?
We primarily use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams for their superior coverage, durability, and color accuracy. We're happy to discuss specific product lines based on your project needs and budget.
Do you offer color consultation?
Yes — free color consultation is included with every painting project. We also offer standalone color consultation and Design & Style Advisory services for homeowners who want expert guidance before committing to a painting project.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance for interior projects and 4–8 weeks for exterior work (especially during the busy spring and summer seasons). Contact us early to secure your preferred timeline.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Melissa's Painting is fully licensed and insured for residential painting in Colorado.
What is "The Line"?
The Line is Melissa's signature hand-cutting technique that creates razor-sharp paint lines where walls meet ceilings, trim, and adjacent colors — all done entirely by hand without painter's tape. This produces cleaner, crisper results than tape and eliminates the risk of paint bleed.
Do you paint cabinets?
Yes. Cabinet painting is one of our interior services. We sand, prime, and apply multiple coats for a smooth, durable factory-like finish on kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
